Valentine’s Day(情人节) is a day for lovers, and one of the loveliest holidays in the United States. It is very popular to send cards decorated with hearts and flowers to express love.
Halloween (October 31st)
Halloween is a night-time children’s holiday. It is a time for frightening costumes, masks, parties, games and tricks. Children with curious masks go from house to house to frighten friends or neighbors and threaten then with “Trick or Treat”.(万圣节是小孩子的节日，到了晚上，他们穿着奇怪的衣服，戴着面具参加聚会，或者挨家挨户搞恶作剧，“不给糖就捣蛋”。)
Thanksgiving (the Fourth Thursday in November)
It is an annual day of thanks for the blessing people have enjoyed during the year. The theme of thanksgiving has always been peace and plenty, heath and happiness. People have such traditional food as roast turkey, pumpkin pie and apples.(感恩节是每年11月的第四个星期四，感恩节的主题是和平与富足、健康与幸福，感恩节的传统食物有火鸡、南瓜饼和苹果。)
